Brief description:

The project supported government in the preparation of arrangements for donor support (US$270m) to the overall Program 135 Phase 2 (2006-2010) (US$1b) which provides development support to remote mountainous areas and ethnic minority communities. The project, an Implementation Readiness Assessment, included support to the determination of the aid modality (budget support was selected) and support to the government to mitigate fiduciary risk, and to ensure adequate institutional arrangements, cost and economic effectiveness and sustainable livelihoods improvement. CPL was the lead consultant.
